Stock up on kindling

The United Methodists crossed the Hooch yesterday to worship and eat together.  It was good.  A full sanctuary during the middle of a work day is something that is usually reserved for a funeral so it was an encouraging experience.  The opportunity to cross the river and worship with fellow Christians is available all week all over the valley.  I hope more of you will join us.  Today Duke boy is preaching at Lanett 1st UMC.

"Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled the light."  Albert Schweitzer

John Wesley, the father of Methodism, believed we all contained a divine spark.  Perhaps that's why worship together is so lovely.  It gives us the opportunity to have our spark rekindled.

OK, time to listen to the birds.  I hear at least 4 distinct songs.  A robin checked out the new bathing facilities in the front garden yesterday morning.  Thinking of installing a tiny heated towel rack??

Have a great day.  Go rekindle some light.
